Porters

On most of the treks I present here, you stay in Lodges for the night and you can buy your meals alongside the trail, so you have not too much gear to carry. But the walking can be more pleasant when I arrange porter(s) for you.
Treks without any facilities to stay overnight and to eat, you will need porters to carry your tent, food, cooking-stuff etc...

The salary you pay for a porter will do far more good for everyone than spending that same money for pie or beer in a restaurant.

The porters can ba a member of any ethnic group. Many Rais, Tamangs and Magars spend almost their entire lives on the trails serving as porters. They carry loads not only for trekkers, but also to bring supplies to remote hill villages.
