JOMSON TREK

Jomson Trek

Duration: about 9-11 days
Lenght: approx. 180 km
Max. Elevation: 4000 m
Difficulty: medium
Season: October to May

This classic lodge trek starts with a long climb to Ghorepani and then drops down in the worlds deepest valley at Tatopani. Behind the Himalayan range you reach the Tibet-like region of lower Mustang.

The trek from Pokhara to Muktinath boasts some spectacular mountain views, and the route crosses to the other side of the Himalayan range. This is a good trek if you wisth to avoid high altitudes. Turning around in Kagbeni and leaving out Muktinath, you don't cross an altitude of 3000m and still have a trek stenuous enough to be stimulating.

To avoid the long climb to Ghorepani, you can start the trek from Beni and walk up the Kali Gandaki to Tatopani, but then you will miss the spectacular view from Poon Hill.
