Fly in to Lukla and walk to the Sherpa village Namche Bazaar, the monastery at Tengboche and on to Everest Base Camp. It is important to allow enough time on this trek for acclimatisation. It can be very crowded in the high season.

Mount Everest. To the Nepalese it is called Sagarmatha, the "star of the sky". To the Tibetans it is Chomolungma, the mother goddess of the earth. To the rest of the world it is the most renowned mountain of all.

The walk to Everest Base Camp from Lukla takes you through lush valleys with abundant flora and fauna, past friendly Sherpa villages and Buddhist monastaries, and far above the treeline towards the earth's highest mountains. Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse and Mt. Everest tower above you on this challenging but rewarding trek.

This is the most popular trek in the Khumbu region, so you have to be appreciate that this also is the most crowded one here. On the other hand, there are ample places to rest and enjoy a meal along the way and to stay for night.
